Adult Coloring

Is an overly detailed coloring book for you?

My answer is yes. I've been working on the above image for about a week now, and I love it. Neither of the two previous pages were finished, but I needed the message of this page.

My book of choice is 'Whatever is Lovely: a coloring book for reflection and worship'. It has proven to be just that. Using this book with my daily prayer time helps me to relax a bit and refocus.

Peace has been my word for the last two weeks. First I was at camp, and now I am preparing for a new school year. Peace is definitely what I need.

Lighthouses

The peace in troubled seas. A light shining through the darkness.

Only a few weeks ago (was it only a few weeks? it seems so far from here and now) the Summer Camp musician introduced us all to a new song. In reality, its not *new* new, but new to us. It struck a chord with me due to my attachment to lighthouses. When we came home from camp, I found that the original artist is this Irish Christian band, Rend Collective. Their music definitely fits into the stuff I like.

In the times of murkiness I've had, this song has become encouragement. Another blessing from summer camp.

Also, the music video's kinda quirky, and I like it.

The Summer Winds Down.

August is drawing to a close. Next week, my final semester of regular classes starts. This is the stack of books for 4 of my 5 classes this semester:

I'm trying not to be depressed about the end of my summer leisure, especially since I have had such a great summer. Here are some snapshots of my summer:

Out with my friends for my birthday
Bachelorette Party

Me & my sister @ the Idina Menzel concert
Me & E at Allie's rehearsal dinner
Me and Allie (the bride)
My cabin of "Dragonflies" at summer camp

Me and my counselors at camp
I passed my certification tests too!! Found out last week, and forgot to share my excitement! Since those are done, I just have to finish my degree, and I will officially have a teaching certificate next summer!

Yes, the summer was definitely good :-)

Even though the summer is quickly ending, I will do my best to make the most of this last week-- read that as Mary is going to craft, A LOT.
